One new fire was reported Sept. 7 in Fort Frances District and confirmed yesterday.
A single tree lightning strike caused the fire, which was listed as “under control” at last report.
Dryden District also was investigating a fire report yesterday evening.
The forest fire hazard is “low” across the central and northern sectors of the Northwest Region, but remains “moderate-high” in the southwest and eastern sectors.
