Shine Auto Repair located at 3197 Hwy. 11, opened its doors to customers on January 2, 2026.
Eager to offer vehicle repair are Chris and Trudy Shine. Chris offers full mechanical services with the exception of safety checks (presently) and air conditioning services. If tires are on rims Chris will change them for customers.
Chris brings with him over twenty years as a licensed mechanic. Many will remember Chris working at Central Service in Emo, where he was employed for twenty years and was a well respected mechanic. Chris also worked at Busch’s Auto Supplies, where he started working at sixteen years of age. Now 52 years of age, when asked what age he plans to retire, he quickly answered, “When I stop breathing.”
Chris has always been interested in mechanics, taking both auto and machine shop all through high school. He’s never considered a different line of employment.
“It’s a passion that I remember from as early as 16 years old.”shared Chris.
Chris has had family role models that are also mechanics, cousins Danny, Brad and Darryl Shine.
Chris shared that the decision to open a business of his own stemmed from both wanting to be his own boss, as well as being able to offer the best possible service for his customers.

“I like working from home, there’s definitely benefits working for yourself, one being the amount you can make is much more than working for someone else,” he said.
“I’m also hoping to offer faster services to customers, often there can be a three week waiting period to get vehicles repaired in our district, often people need repairs right away. I’m hoping to do be able to offer that service.”
Chris’s shop is 24×24 feet right now however he is looking at building on another few stalls with a hoist in the future.
Trudy will be a vital part of the business, doing scheduling, books and running for parts. This will definitely be a two person business. Some may remember Trudy when she was employed at Cloverleaf.
Shine Auto Repair hours will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with overtime if necessary.
Chris and Trudy both look forward to seeing people they know, meeting new people and offering a service to the district.
Our community sends them all the best for a successful business and offering services in our community.
