Shamrock Tea set for March in Emo

The Emo Hospital Auxiliary will be holding their annual Shamrock Tea and Bake Sale on Friday, March 13 in the Emo Hospital Cafeteria from 1 – 3 p.m. Admission to the tea will be $5 and will support the work and projects of the Auxiliary in the Emo Hospital. Come for some tea, coffee and refreshments and spend some time with friends. There will be baking and goodies for sale, so please mark the date on your calendar and come out to support the beneficial work of the members of the Hospital Auxiliary.

The next ‘Country Jam’ in Emo will be on Friday, February 21 in the Emo Legion. Musicians will start playing about 7 p.m. The bar will be open for adult refreshments, plus pop and water. Admission to the dance is only $2 and helps the Legion with heat and lights. If you enjoy old time country music please plan on attending. If you’re a musician and haven’t yet attended bring your equipment and set up before 7 p.m. New members are always welcome.

The recent country jam in Barwick was a success. Another one is being planned and will be announced when a date is finalized. Organizers are always looking for more musicians, so if you play old time country music, plan on attending the next jam. An enthusiastic crew of dancers are always on hand and ready to dance the night away. Admission is $5 but includes free pop, water, coffee and refreshments.

The Township of Emo is looking for volunteers on the following committees: Planning Advisory Committee, and the Emo Toy Library Advisory Committee. If you require more information about these Committee, or if you are interested in becoming a member, please contact the Emo Municipal Office.

The Emo and District Lions are always looking for new members from the District. If you are interested in becoming a member and would like to contribute to local projects and programs around the world, the club meets on the first Wednesday of the month in the Devlin Community Hall. The club’s most recent project is the new accessible playground and the Carmody Ball Diamond in Devlin. Other projects are being planned for the near future.
