‘Shade’ wins slo-pitch tourney

The weather was hot and sizzling—and so were many of the games played last weekend at the Devlin ball diamond during the annual slo-pitch tournament.
When the last ball was thrown and the final bat swung, the ‘A’ event went to “Shade” from Fort Frances after they beat out the Brew Jays.
The ‘B’ event went to the Village People, who downed the Slammers in the game that went into two extra innings. Taking the ‘C’ event was the Clippers over the Variety Zone.
From all comments I’ve heard, it was a very successful weekend. Hats off to all the organizers and volunteers who make this event eagerly anticipated each year.

Robin’s 2¢:
I overheard a “middle-aged” women the other day telling her “middle-aged” girlfriend, “I don’t consider myself as having hot flashes—I have power surges.”
