Several fall suppers planned

Fall suppers are the order of the day. Stratton rec had a delicious beef supper last Saturday.
Meanwhile, a Heritage Fall Supper, featuring stew, salad, homemade bread, and pie, is planned for next Saturday (Oct. 28) at 6 p.m. in the Barwick Hall. Music will be by Glenn Hart and friends.
Cost is $10 per person or $5 for those eight and under.

A fall supper in the Bergland Hall goes this Saturday (Oct. 21) starting at 5 p.m. The menu will feature pumpkin desserts.
The cost is $12.
There also will be a craft sale in the Bergland Hall on Nov. 18.

Rilla and Bert Race enjoyed a trip west to Marlboro, near Hinton, Alta., in September for his mother’s 80th birthday.
Meanwhile, Joe and Bev Kozachenko also are back from visiting relatives in Edmonton, Wainwright, and Dauphin.
Keith and Grace Nielson are back from a visit in Thunder Bay.

The next W.I. meeting in Bergland will be held Nov. 13 at Keren Seper’s home.

A potluck is planned for tomorrow (Oct. 19) at the Stratton seniors’ centre. The “Red Hatters” will do a feature after lunch.

Peter Neilson is working for Northern stores in Cambridge Bay, located on the south shore of Victoria Island in the Northwest Territories.
I hear the sun comes up at 9 a.m. and goes down around 3 p.m. at this time of year. It will be quite an experience for Peter.

Our Lady of the Way Church supper in Pinewood is coming up Sunday, Oct. 29, at 5 p.m. Tickets available at the door.
The C.W.L. tea and bake sale goes Nov. 25 from 1-3 p.m. at the school in Stratton.

The annual seniors’ Christmas dinner is slated for Thursday, Dec. 7. “Highway 621” will entertain.
