On Aug. 10, Dryden OPP officers were conducting traffic enforcement and stopped a motor vehicle for speeding on Highway 17 in Wainwright Township.
An investigation into the traffic stop revealed the occupant of the vehicle was in possession of a controlled substance, with an estimated value of $6,000.
The driver, a 77-year-old British Columbia man, has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking.
He was being held in custody for a bail hearing.
