The OPP’s Underwater Search and Recovery Unit was expected to arrive on the scene today to help with the search for a teen boater who went missing in the Sabaskong Bay area of Lake of the Woods on Saturday afternoon.
Police received a report shortly before 2:30 p.m. that a male had been thrown from a boat in the area of King Island.
Members of the Kenora OPP’s Marine Unit searched the area but did not locate the 17-year-old from Sioux Narrows Nestor Falls, who was the lone occupant of the boat.
Police did not release the name of the missing teen but family friends identified him as Devin Allison, who had graduated from Fort Frances High School this past June.
