The search for a missing Bloomington, Mn. man is underway in the Condon Island area of Lake Superior.
Nipigon OPP officers, with the assistance of the OPP’s North West Region Emergency Response Team and the Canadian Coast Guard, have been searching for the man since he was reported overdue yesterday evening.
Around 8:55 p.m., Nipigon OPP received details of an 80-year-old male who had not returned to his camp at Kama Point, in the Township of Patience, after going fishing on Lake Superior earlier that morning.
Family and friends of the male began to search for him when he did not return to camp in the afternoon and recovered his boat at the mouth of the Jackfish River.
Two OPP marine units, two Coast Guard vessels, and one Coast Guard helicopter currently are searching for the missing man.
