Science North session coming to Emo

Science North will be holding a free “Robots en Route” workshop on Tuesday, July 24 for children aged seven-12.

A reminder the TD summer reading program also is underway at the EPL.

The Christian Reformed Church in Emo will be holding its annual Vacation Bible School, this year entitled “Shipwrecked, Rescued by Jesus,” on July 16-20 from 9 a.m.-noon.
It is open to all children who have finished JK up to the end of Grade 6.
Free of charge, the school will feature games, Bible stories, singing, drama, movies, scientific experiments, snacks, and much more.

God’s Great Outdoors will be holding its fourth-annual church service, followed by a fish fry, at the beach at Northwest Bay/Naicatchwenin First Nation this Sunday (July 15) at 4 p.m.
Guest speaker will be Pastor Kasey VanderVeen.
There will be a free-will offering for the fish fry and everyone is welcome.

The Fort Frances Canadian Bass Championship is pleased to welcome the Fort Frances Lions Club as its charity event on Thursday, July 19.
The club, which is raising funds for new playground equipment at the Lions Park in Fort Frances, will have pull tabs for sale all three days at the FFCBC, as well as its signature “Bingo” event under the big tent from 6:30-8:30 p.m. next Thursday.
Their sponsored evening entertainment later that night is the Cajun Country Rock Band, a CCR tribute band from Thunder Bay. These guys are playing all over the north to rave reviews!
Tickets cost $10 each, which are available at Northwoods Gallery & Gifts as well as at the door.

Diabetes Canada is happy to announce a partnership with the Lions Foundation Canada and the Emo and District Lions Club.
For your convenience, two drop boxes have been placed at Kaemingh Fuels on Highway 11/71 in Emo.
Recycle your clothes and support Diabetes Canada. The Emo and District Lions would like to the Kaminghs for donating space for the drop boxes.

The Emo Agricultural Research Station will be holding its annual open house on Wednesday, July 25 starting at 7 p.m.
Come out and tour the plots, as well as talk to the special guest for the evening, Christine O’Reilly, a forage specialist for OMAFRA.
Light refreshments also will be served.
Everyone is welcome to attend.

The Borderland Racing Association would like to congratulate #14C Cody Ossachuk in the WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds, #63 Jake Froemke in the Street Stocks, and #16 Gavin Paull in the WISSOTA Modifieds for their feature wins this past Saturday night at the Emo Speedway.
Come on out this Saturday (July 14) at 7 p.m. for more stock car racing action (weather permitting).
