School boards’ IT staff to meet

The Northern Ontario Information Technology Education Leaders (NOITEL) has organized a tremendous conference to acknowledge the contributions of information technology employees, share best practices, network, and learn.
Technology Conference 2006 will take place June 22-23 at the Valhalla Inn in Thunder Bay. Expenses have been covered by 23 sponsors that include some of the world’s leading technology companies.
It’s expected that all information technology employees from Lakehead Public Schools, the Northern School Resource Alliance, Keewatin-Patricia School Board, Superior North Catholic District School Board, Northwest Catholic District School Board, Rainy River District School Board, Thunder Bay Catholic District School Board, Kenora Catholic School Board, and Superior-Greenstone District School Board will be in attendance.
Attendees will take part in outstanding workshops and networking opportunities; enabling them to identify, evaluate, and adopt new and effective technologies and discover solutions for existing systems.
Workshops will include presentations by representatives of companies such as Cisco Systems, Novell, Apple, and Microsoft.
Information technology employees will have the ability to connect with 55 of their peers from across Northern Ontario to develop an ongoing support network to exchange lessons learned and create efficiencies.
