School board names director

John Madigan will be the new director of education for the Northwest Catholic District School Board here, board chair Gerry Rousseau announced today.
Madigan, who replaces Carol-Lynne Oldale, will take over the position effective Aug. 25.
Madigan’s career as an educator includes holding a variety of leadership roles, serving as teacher, principal, superintendent of education, and acting director of education.
During his years as a teacher and principal, he worked for the Windsor Separate School Board and the Renfrew County Catholic District School Board.
In recent years, Madigan has worked for the Northeastern Catholic District School Board as acting director of education and superintendent of education.
Currently, as superintendent of education, Madigan is responsible for all programs and staff development for 12 elementary and one secondary school.
Madigan has served the Catholic community in a variety of leadership positions in professional associations as well as on church and educational committees.
The Northwest Catholic District School Board, with its corporate office in Fort Frances and a satellite office in Dryden, operates schools in Fort Frances, Stratton, Dryden, and Sioux Lookout.
