SCAP preparing for spring concert

Students at the Sturgeon Creek Alternate Program (SCAP) have been preparing these past few weeks for their spring concert coming up next Thursday (May 1) at 7 p.m. at the Christian Reformed Church at Emo.
In other news, the local Christian Parents Association’s video library is moving around, presently making its home at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Rainy River.
The most recent addition to the video library is the “Bringing Up Boys” series by Dr. James Dobson of Focus on the Family. Contact Mark Mast for more information (852-3202).
In late February, the CPA provided funding for four teachers from SCAP (Allan Carlson, Olive Friesen, John Loewen, and Kendall Olsen) to attend the Association of Christian Schools International conference for Christian schools and educators in Winnipeg.
The group reported their delight at being encouraged in their faith.
Finally, the CPA’s annual constituency meeting was held recently at SCAP. Reports was received from CPA chairman Mark Mast, parent chairman Wes Friesen, SCAP principals Kendall Olsen and Don McBride, and counsellor/co-ordinator Heidi Gerber.
As well, the budget was ratified and the election of CPA board and parent council members took place.
