Saturday was a beautiful day for sailing on Rainy Lake as the Rendezvous Yacht Club concluded its racing season with the Pumpkin Cup.
Ron Bowman captained “In Tune” to a victory against 10 other sailboats. Close behind “In Tune” was Jack Bartlett and his “Mad Hatter,” followed by Colin Hewitt and “Ariba.”
Saturday’s race started in Sand Bay just outside La Place Rendez-Vous. From there, the sailors headed east to Pine Narrows, then through the narrows south to a finish line between Big American and Fraser Islands.
Overall, the course was roughly 12 nautical miles long, with winds from the south and southeast. The crews finished the course in as little as two-and-a-half hours.
