Riverside Health Care has been informed that one Riverside staff member from the Emo Health Centre tested positive for COVID-19. The staff member had no direct contact with other staff or residents recently. Out of an abundance of caution, we are testing all residents at the Home twice over the next 7 days.
Over the last year, our team has worked diligently to implement and adapt our proactive coordinated, equitable and evidence-based approach to continue to deliver safe, quality care for our patients, residents, clients, physicians and staff.
While our district has experienced increased COVID-19 infections recently, we are hopeful the province’s Stay-at-Home Order will minimize the risk of transmission.
It remains imperative that we recognize the importance of ensuring our families and communities stay safe. We encourage the public to adhere to all provincial restrictions, stay safe and stay home except for essential reasons.
Northwestern Health Unit has received report of seven new positive COVID-19 test result in the region over the weekend. Four cases were reported in the Rainy River region, with three cases in the Kenora region. Follow up with the persons involved and their contacts has started according to protocol.
