In March, 1981, Riverside Health Care Facilities, Inc. established a Quarter-Century Club to honour employees of the corporation and auxiliary members with 25 years or more of service.
In 2001, physicians who have had 25 or more years of hospital privileges at Riverside were included in the Quarter-Century Club.
Members reaching 25, 30, and 40 years of service were honoured at a special recognition ceremony yesterday evening at the local Legion.
New members honoured this year included Sharlene Beninger, Ellen Caul, Irene Henry, Gary Buffington, and Donna Calder (La Verendrye Hospital), Louise Bliss and Tabea Nussbaumer (Emo Health Centre), and Mildred Johnson (Rainy River Health Centre).
Rounding out the new members were Lorelei Caldwell, Julie Dahl, Terri Spicer, and Shirley Malon (Rainycrest Long-Term Care).
Those honoured for 30 years of service included Renae Scheirer, Dwight Stang, Dianna Whalen, Garry Audette, Doug White, Andy Lesko, and Sheila Polkinghorne (La Verendrye Hospital).
Also reaching 30 years of service were Karen Green, Connie Wood, and Donna Paterson (Rainycrest Long-Term Care).
Riverside also is proud to acknowledge auxiliary members for their continued support.
La Verendrye Hospital auxiliary members honoured for 25 years of service included Anne Anderson, Polly Basaraba, Faye Gasparini, Rosemary Haglund, Pat Kozik, Thelma Lindsell, Linda MacDonald, Laura McConnell, Shirley Nault, Vi Plumridge, Wylma Redford, Jenny Wonfor, and Ann Wood.
Helen Matheson (Rainycrest Long-Term Care auxiliary) was saluted for 40 years of service.
