Riverside salutes its staff

Riverside Health Care Facilities, Inc. held its annual staff appreciation and recognition day June 17 on the Emo Health Centre grounds for all staff, retirees, quarter-century club members, and auxiliary members from Emo.
The tent moved to Rainy River on Wednesday and then back to Fort Frances to complete the annual swing through the district.
Thanks to the weatherman, the event in Emo went off without a hitch.
While there with my wife, Adelia, we spotted Ed Cousineau, Lori Bazinet, and Ted Kaemingh manning the barbecues, which featured hamburgers and oversized hotdogs.
Emo Health Centre supervisor Edith Bodnar later cut the appreciation cake, which everyone enjoyed with ice cream.
Those receiving five-year appreciation certificates were Toni Benning, Diane McManaman, Bernard Rittau, Barbara Rousseau, Lindsay Strickland, and Rick Strickland (at La Verendrye) and Sandra Gosselin (in Rainy River).
Honoured for 10 years’ service were Sandra Caul, Lisa Belluz, Shannon Munro, Victoria Robar, and Andrea Silander (in Emo), and Laurie Brown and Sandra Ottertail (in Rainy River).
Those attaining 15 years of service included Stephen Barnard, Carol Boivin, Lorna Brown, Shawne Crowe, Shawn Eide, Doris Foster, Shelley Gustafson, Glenna Morand, Rooksana Randeree, Becky Robinson, Marie Saunders, and Connie Scott (all at La Verendrye).
And honoured for 20 years of service were Loraine Currie, Dianne Lipinski, and Jan Thompson (La Verendrye), and Catherine Berard and Laurel Desrosier (Rainy River).
Some 35 new employees were welcomed between June, 2002 and June 2003 in either ambulance services, nursing, counselling, housekeeping, diagnostic services, dietary services, Valley Diabetes, patient info., and engineering services.
