Riverside further eases visitor restrictions

Press release

Riverside is pleased to announce that effective immediately, all visitors travelling from within Canada are welcome into both our long-term care and acute (hospital) settings.

We remind visitors to ensure they remain current on all restrictions as they relate to inter-provincial travel.
International visitors, including the United States, remain restricted and subject to 14-day isolation prior to accessing a Riverside facility.

Riverside continues to have our detailed safety procedures and infection prevention control practices in place, which are designed to ensure the health and safety of our staff, the community and those within our care. These include but are not limited to, wearing the provided medical grade procedure mask at all times, proper hand hygiene practices, physical distancing requirements, and screenings prior to each visit, including temperature checks.  All additional procedures and restrictions previously communicated regarding those visiting Long-Term Care residents remain in place.

“For over a year Riverside has had restrictions related to visitations for those travelling from within Canada. This change is a significant milestone for our patients, residents and their loved ones. We are extremely pleased to now welcome visitors from across the country.” stated Julie Loveday, Executive Vice President of Clinical Services & CNE.

Riverside remains committed to ensuring a safe environment for all those entering our facilities during the COVID-19 pandemic. We thank everyone for their understanding and continued support as we continue to develop a coordinated, evidence-based and equitable approach in providing safe, quality and timely care to those we serve.
