Research station in full swing

The research station just west of Emo is in full swing these days. Seeding has been going on for a number of weeks, with Kim-Jo Bliss heading the staff of three employed there.
Bliss also wishes to remind people of the 2001 Rainy River Valley beautification competition. “This competition is jointly sponsored by the Rainy River Federation of Agriculture and the Rainy River Valley Agricultural Society,” she noted.
Official entry forms are available from the Rainy River Valley Agricultural Society, or send your entry to Beautification Competition, c/o Kim-Jo Bliss, RR2, Emo, Ont., POW 1E0.
A reminder photographs (before improvements) must accompany the official entry form. The deadline for entries is July 30.
Those interested can enter different categories, including farmstead, farm gateway/entrance, previous winners best maintained, most attractive (rural/residential), and 4-H member gate sign.
