The Br. #29 Legion Ladies’ Auxiliary held its monthly meeting on Oct. 11, with 39 members in attendance.
The meeting was called to order following a delicious fall potluck supper.
Committee reports were read and dealt with.
Several auxiliary members have done an outstanding job of cleaning and reorganizing the kitchen. It looks fabulous.
Be sure to check out the table of miscellaneous kitchen items for sale at the annual “Remembrance Day” tea coming up Sunday, Nov. 5 from 2-4 p.m. at the Legion.
Speaking of the “Remembrance Day” tea, plans all have been finalized. The perogies, meat pies, and cabbage rolls will be available again this year.
As well, the bake table, cookie walk, crafts, and a jewellery table will be set up.
New this year will be “Pick-a-Poppy.”
The auxiliary’s monthly supper coming up this Friday (Oct. 27) at 5:30 p.m. at the Legion will feature roast beef and all the fixings.
The cost is $15/plate, with doors opening at 4:30 p.m. (take-outs also available by calling 274-3772).
A 50/50 draw will be held, as well.
The attendance draw was won by Clara Steinke while the birthday draw winner was Maureen Ricard.
Jan Gosman won the 50/50 draw.
A reminder that elections will be held at the auxiliary’s Nov. 8 meeting, which gets underway at 7 p.m. upstairs at the Legion.
