Really Livin’ with two free family events

Weechi-it-te-win Family Services is pleased to be providing fun family entertainment on the evenings of February 7th and 8th at the Couchiching Multi-use Facility. These free events are part of the Really Livin’ 2 Wellness and Recovery Conference. Although the conference held during the day is full, the evening entertainment events are open to the general public.

Wednesday February 7th will see a comedy show at 6:30 pm with renowned Indigenous comedian Sherry McKay followed by Open Mic and karaoke until 9pm. Everyone is encouraged to try performing in a fun environment with no judgement. There will be various prizes given out throughout the evening.

Thursday February 8th is Concert night with live performances from Tik Tok sensations Tia Wood, Mattmac, the Sunsetting Kidd and local talent Mack Sicz from Couchiching First Nation.

Executive Director Laurie Rose said that these free public events promote spending quality family time together with positive experiences that also include teaching moments. “At Weechi-it-te-win, we always strive to promote healthy family interactions in all our events which are inclusive to families throughout our district. These annual Really Livin’ events demonstrate to people of all ages that you can have a great time without the use of alcohol and drugs with the opportunity to meet popular Indigenous performers with inspirational stories.”

The doors open at 6pm each night with performances beginning at 6:30pm. These are alcohol and substance-free events and children under 14 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
