As many as 10 new fires were confirmed across the region yesterday, with more reports being investigated as of late afternoon.
Fort Frances Fire #10, located about 25 km east of Fort Frances, was a lightning-caused blaze.
It is now “out” at 0.1 hectares in size.
Meanwhile, Thunder Bay Fire #26, located about four km east of Sunshine, was listed as “under control” at 0.2 ha.
The other eight fires occurred in Sioux Lookout District.
One of those blazes, located about 10 km east of Kingfisher Lake, was listed as “not under control.”
The others all were listed as “being observed.”
