Rainycrest is accepting bags of used clothing for pick-up by the Canadian Diabetes Association.
Garbage-sized bags, marked “Diabetes,” can be dropped off just inside the door by the Administration office.
This is a fundraiser for the auxiliary—it is paid $1.50 per bag.
Please consider helping our seniors when you are cleaning your closets.
Meanwhile, visitors at Rainycrest might consider doing some of their Christmas shopping at the “Tuck Shop.”
The shop is featuring its Christmas items now, so be sure stop by and check out their holiday decorations, giftware, and knick-knacks.
There also is a selection of all-season purses, jewellery, and personal items like soaps, shampoo, and toothbrushes.
And don’t forget to treat yourself, and your buddy, to a yummy extra-large ice cream cone for only a loonie!
October birthday parties that were cancelled due to the recent respiratory infection at Rainycrest were held jointly with the November birthday residents today (Nov. 19).
Thirty-one residents enjoyed birthday cake, ice cream, coffee, tea, or juice.
In other news, seniors at Rainycrest keep on singing—and now they are in a group under the capable direction of Diane Maxey.
Diane spends a great deal of time here, and during a sing-along one Thursday morning, a resident asked her if it would be possible for Rainycrest to have its very own choir.
It didn’t take long for the news to get around!
Some 18 members are practising every Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. to get ready for their concert on Wednesday, Dec. 23 at 1:30 p.m.
Diane asked the group if they could come up with a name and one resident suggested the “Hallett Hall Choraliers.”
Be sure to mark Dec. 23 on your calendar to uplift your spirit with an hour with our newest choir; the residents would love your applause.
