The Riverside Foundation for Health Care is proud to announce the overwhelming success of the Rainy River ultrasound campaign which has raised a total of $150,000, to support the acquisition of vital medical equipment for the Rainy River Health Centre.
Launched in June 2023, the campaign garnered significant attention and support from the community, thanks in large part to the generosity and commitment of Jack Elliott. Mr. Elliott, in memory of his beloved wife Norma Elliott, pledged to match all donations received, up to $10,000. However, inspired by the outpouring of support from the community, Jack graciously extended his commitment, ultimately matching $30,000 in donations.
The initial goal of the campaign was to raise $135,000 to acquire a new ultrasound machine for the Rainy River Health Centre. Thanks to the incredible generosity of donors, the campaign exceeded expectations, surpassing the goal and raising $150,000. Approximately $28,000 was generated through 50/50 draws and Split the Pot revenue, and more than $22,000 was raised through the Rainy River District west Christmas Appeal further demonstrating the community’s dedication to enhancing local healthcare services.
Any excess funds raised beyond the final cost of the ultrasound machine will be allocated to the Rainy River Health Centre fund for future use, ensuring continued support for healthcare initiatives in the community.
“We are thrilled by the overwhelming response to the Rainy River ultrasound campaign,” said Allison Cox, Foundation Director of the Riverside Foundation for Health Care. “This achievement is a testament to the incredible generosity and compassion of the entire community. Thanks to their support, we have been able to acquire this vital piece of medical equipment, which will significantly enhance healthcare services for residents in our district.”
The ultrasound machine has been successfully acquired and is already in use at the Rainy River Health Centre, enabling healthcare professionals to provide enhanced diagnostic and treatment services to patients without the need to travel.
The Riverside Foundation for Health Care extends its deepest gratitude to Jack Elliott, all donors, volunteers, and community members who contributed to the success of the Rainy River ultrasound campaign. Your support has made a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and families in our community.
