Rainy Lake still rising

Rainy Lake is still rising–and today matched its 1974 level at 339.197 m (1,109.57 ft.)–but it may crest next week if there is no significant rain.
“If we don’t get any significant rain, I think we’re going to see the rise declining and see it crest Tuesday or Wednesday, but if we get any significant rains, it will continue to rise,” said Raimo Tyrvainen, energy and utilities co-ordinator for Abitibi-Consolidated Inc.
Rainy Lake rose 2.6 cm (1.20 inches) since yesterday but Namakan Lake has crested for now and even dropped by .03 cm to 341.443 m (1,120.22 ft.)
