Rainy Lake Conservancy to meet

Press Release

Each August, members of the Rainy Lake Conservancy gather together to receive updated information on its activities as well as to meet like-minded lake dwellers.
Lake-dweller or not, member or not, all are invited to attend the annual meeting set for this Sunday (Aug. 7) at 2 p.m. at La Place Rendez-Vous here.
This year’s keynote speaker will be Chris Maher, regional vice-president of the Nature Conservancy of Canada.
He has a strong connection to Northwestern Ontario, both as a scientist and also as an avid hunter and fisherman.
Maher’s talk will focus on the Rainy Lake/Lake of the Woods Conservation Plan developed by the NCC to protect the most important natural heritage values of these two lakes.
The Rainy Lake Conservancy is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and protecting Rainy Lake for present and future generations.
