Raffle tickets on sale for Crime Stoppers ‘Top-up day’ raised $1,800

As part of Safeway’s fundraising for the local Crime Stoppers, raffle tickets for a chance to win $100/week in groceries for a year are now on sale for $5 each.
Tickets went on sale Saturday in conjunction with a “top-up day” featuring 35 “celebrity baggers” packing groceries. This raised about $1,800.
The raffle gives people a chance to win either the grand prize, a second-place prize of $500 in Safeway gift certificates, or the third-place prize of $100 in gift certificates.
A total of 3,000 tickets have been printed, which are available at Safeway or from Crime Stoppers board members.
The draw will be made Jan. 29 at 4 p.m., with proceeds going towards the purchase of playground equipment for local parks.
