Quiet on fire scene


Just one new fire was confirmed in the Northwest Region yesterday.
Sioux Lookout Fire #11—a human-caused blaze—currently is classed as “not under control” at 0.1 hectares in size.
This was the only active fire as of press time today.
Meanwhile, two other fires were declared “out” yesterday, including Kenora Fire #5 (first reported last month) and Red Lake Fire #3 (located in Pikangikum First Nation).
The forest fire hazard remains “low” in the southern part of the region and “moderate to high” in the northwest sectors.
