Quiet on fire scene

No new forest fires were reported in the Northwest Region between Oct. 26 and yesterday afternoon.
There currently is one active wildland fire and two prescribed burns in the region.
The Sakwite Lake prescribed burn in Fort Frances District, located on Korpi Road, was listed as “under control” at 168.4 hectares.
The Wind Lake prescribed burn in Sioux Lookout District also was listed at “under control” at 183.0 ha.
The fire hazard is “low” across the region.
Hunters are reminded to be aware of FireRangers and vehicles as they respond to forest fires.
