Public board appoints new director of education

The Rainy River District School Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Jack McMaster as the new Director of Education.
Jack will be assuming his new duties on or before September 30, 2005.
“We’re excited to have Jack McMaster join this dynamic organization,” said board chair Dan Belluz. “He brings a strong background of educational leadership to the director’s role.”
McMaster is moving from the position of Superintendent of Education with the Keewatin-Patricia District School Board where he held the Special Education portfolio. Mcmaster is totally committed to his profession.
In addition to his service as a Superintendent of Education for the past six years, he served on numerous committees and has developed and presented a multitude of educational workshops.
His teaching career began in 1980. From 1992-1999, he worked in elementary and secondary schools as a principal and vice-principal.
McMaster completed a Bachelor of Physical Education degree from McMaster University, Bachelor of Education from the University of Western Ontario and a Masters in Education from Lakehead University.
In addition, McMaster holds the Ontario Supervisory Officer Certification.
McMaster has lived in communities throughout Northwestern Ontario during recent years. He is looking forward to new relationships between teachers, students and parents.
“I am very pleased and excited to have the opportunity to become the leader of a board with such commitment to student learning,” said McMaster.
“I look forward to contributing to the enhancement of programs that will create greater learning opportunities for students and staff,” he added.
The Rainy River District School Board extends congratulations to Jack McMaster and welcomes him to the Rainy River District School Board.
