Local artist Cher Pruys loves Canada.
If you don’t believe it, just ask the Society of Canadian Artists (SCA).
Two of Pruys’ paintings, “After The Rain” and “Ski Chalet,” have been juried into the SCA 2017 Elected Members Exhibition, “Oh Canada–Our Home and Native Land,” which will be held at Gallery 78 in Fredericton, N.B. from June 16-July 9.
This is a special show celebrating Canada’s 150th birthday.
The chosen pieces were to feature the artists’ love of Canada, noted Pruys.
“I am so honoured to have had my pieces chosen, giving me a chance to share a few images of what I feel makes our part of this wonderful country of ours so special,” she remarked.
“I feel that it is an opportunity to once again put our area on the map,” Pruys added.
“After The Rain” depicts a rural scene–complete with a rainbow in the sky–from Highway 613 South in Devlin.
“Ski Chalet,” meanwhile, captures the quaint charm of the Rainy Lake Nordic Ski Club’s clubhouse at Rocky Inlet.
