Fort Frances OPP would like to remind the public to be skeptical of telemarketers promising discount packages for minimal monies, or being named as a contest winner you never entered.
It can be difficult to determine the legitimacy of a telemarketer when the caller is pressured to make a decision on the spot. Don’t become a victim of these unscrupulous criminals.
Never give out your credit card information to unsolicited callers, and never give anyone the three-digit PIN number on the back of your card.
And never provide money or information on personal finances to strangers.
Remember, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
