Former employees, friends, and customers from the area gathered at the Emo post office to help Postmistress Dixie Kinnear celebrate her recent retirement.
After 43 years as an employee of Canada Post, starting as a part-timer, Dixie decided it was time to retire.
Those on hand for the celebration thanked her for her many years of dedicated service to the community. Those who wished stayed to enjoy some cake and coffee.
In related news, Canada Post has decided at this time to severely cut back on the number of hours available to the staff at the Emo post office.
If you feel our community deserves better service, or that the move will impact you personally, contact customer service at 1-800-267-1177.
