Police seize drugs in Kenora

Officers with the Thunder Bay Tri-Force/Kenora Joint Forces Drug Unit executed a search warrant in Kenora on Tuesday that resulted in drugs seized and two people being charged.
Police executed a search warrant at a motel in Kenora and seized items including a crack pipe, digital scales containing cocaine residue, ziploc bags, and a “debt” list.
Police later arrested two people who were returning to the room and seized 1,362 grams (three pounds) of marijuana they were carrying in a duffel bag, as well as morphine pills and a folding knife.
The street value of the seized drugs is $27,240.
A 38-year old male, of no fixed address, was charged with possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking and possession of a concealed weapon.
A 26-year old woman, of no fixed address, was charged with possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking and possession of a controlled substance (morphine).
Both were being held in custody pending a bail hearing today (Jan. 21).
The Tri-Force/Kenora Joint Forces Drug Unit consists of members of the Thunder Bay City Police, OPP, RCMP, Kenora Police Service, Atikokan Police Service, and Dryden Police Service.
