Yesterday around 9:40 p.m., Rainy River District OPP officers were dispatched to a single-motor vehicle collision on Highway 11, about 1.7 km west of Gehl Lake.
When officers arrived at the scene, they located an unoccupied red pickup truck in the south ditch with the engine on and bearing a Saskatchewan licence plate.
Investigation revealed the licence plate was stolen from Swift Current, Sask. on Jan. 8 while the pickup truck had been stolen from Olds, Alta. on Jan. 7.
The Fort Frances OPP is working in consultation with the Swift Current detachment of the RCMP in the investigation.
