Police have busy weekend

District OPP laid numerous charges in Fort Frances, Emo, and Rainy River over the weekend.
Fort Frances OPP stopped an erratic driver yesterday at 10 a.m. on the 300 block of Minnie Avenue.
A 20-year-old Fort Frances man subsequently was charged with driving a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol level over 80 mg.
He was released from custody and will appear in court Sept. 26.
Meanwhile, Emo OPP laid several charges at the Emo fairgrounds. On Friday, a 17-year-old Fort Frances male and an 18-year-old Emo male were charged with consuming liquor while under the age of 19.
They will appear in court at a later date.
Also Friday, an 18-year-old Fort Frances female was arrested and charged with a breach of undertaking.
She was released from custody and will appear in court Sept. 19.
Finally, R.I.D.E. programs staged by Rainy River OPP netted a number of charges over the weekend.
On Saturday, a 46-year-old Sleeman man was charged with failing to wear a proper helmet and driving an off-road vehicle with no licence plate.
Also Saturday, a 21-year-old Big Island FNT man was charged with being a Class G1 licence holder and driving unaccompanied by a qualified driver.
On Friday, a 24-year-old Duluth man and a second man from Santi, Mn. (no age given) were charged with driving a motor vehicle with an open container of liquor.
