Plaque unveiled at dock

A plaque was unveiled at the Front Street dock in Emo in honour of Tompkins Hardware.
Participating at the event was Harriet Sheloff, on behalf of Emo Reeve Russ Fortier and council, Tom Jackson, Tom Mosbeck, and George Wegman.
“On behalf of the Township of Emo Municipality, we wish to gratefully acknowledge your generous donations to the Emo Lions Park over the past years,” Sheloff said in a statement.
“The Emo municipal council and Parks Department are pleased to establish a landmark at our park in appreciation for your community spirit and generosity,” she concluded.
Speaking to Wendy Jackson at Tompkins Hardware shortly after the ceremony, she noted that since the business was founded, there’s been five generations involved.
