A unique fundraiser for breast cancer research will be taking place in the district this Saturday–and everyone is invited to come out and show their support.
Bright pink drainage tile will be installed during an event entitled “Laying Pipe in the Fight.”
The tile-laying event will take place from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. on Smart Road off Highway 11, three miles west of Pinewood.
This is a collaboration between local grain producers Brielmann Ag, drainage specialists Tait Brothers Contracting, and Prinsco Canada (the makers of the drainage pipe).
Prinsco Canada has donated the special pink tile while Tait Brothers Contracting will be installing it free of charge.
The matching costs of the tile and the instillation will be donated to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation by Brielmann Ag.
During the event, there also will be a barbecue, prizes, and a penny table to help raise even more funds.
Everyone is invited to attend, as well as write their names or stories on the special pink pipe before it is placed in the ground.
The event also will serve as an opportunity to see tile drainage being installed, and learn about the process, while joining local farmers in the fight against breast cancer.
