Pesticides, drugs being collected

Clean Farms Northern Ontario is collecting all unwanted or obsolete agricultural pesticides and livestock/equine medications at no charge from Sept. 9-20.

Emo Feed Service (21 Canning Lane) is hosting the collection between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. each day.

The collection is for any agricultural pesticides, identified with a Pest Control Product number on the label that are no longer needed.

Individuals can also use the collection to dispose of livestock medications that are used by primary producers in the rearing of animals in an agricultural content.

These medications are identified with a DIN number, serial number, or Pest Control Product number on the label.

Do not dispose of fertilizer, diluted solution, or large quantities of unopened product, and treated seed.

As well, do not place any needles, sharp objects, medicated feed, aerosol containers premises disinfectants/sanitizers, veterinary clinic waste, medications, ear tags, and aerosols in the collection or any other household hazardous waste.

The next collection by Clean Farms will be held in 2022.
