Part of Highway 602 closed for bridge work

Staff

A portion of Highway 602 will be closed until later this month, following the deterioration of a culvert that was worsened by heavy rainfall that accelerated erosion.
The closure is located on Highway 602 between the Highway 11 junction and Fisher Road. Construction of a permanent bridge is underway and the Ministry of Transportation said it is expected to take up to three weeks to complete.
A pedestrian walkway has been built in the meantime, but the road is closed to vehicle traffic until the highway is safe to use.
During the closure, an alternate route is available via Fisher Road, Highway 613 and Highway 11.
