As the summer season quickly approaches, Voyageurs National Park across the river is preparing to open its park visitor centers.
The park is pleased to announce that all three—Rainy Lake, Kabetogama Lake, and Ash River—will be open daily from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. starting tomorrow (May 26) and ending Sunday, Sept. 30.
Visitors can view exhibits and the park orientation film, or browse the Lake States Interpretive Association’s gift shop and bookstore.
Children can create a souvenir to take home and everyone can enjoy a picnic at the tables provided near each visitor center.
Voyageurs provides a great opportunity to experience the return of warblers and the bloom of wildflowers. The campsites, houseboat sites, and day use areas, except those closed because of eagle nests, are ready for use.
Naturalist programs and boat tours will begin June 16.
The park’s visitor guide, the “Rendezvous,” will help you plan a visit to the park. Visitors can pick up a copy at any visitor center or park headquarters.
Park information also is available online at www.nps.gov/voya
