From the OPP
Yesterday just after 2 a.m., Rainy River District OPP officers, while on patrol, conducted a traffic stop on Colonization Road East in Fort Frances.
The driver, a 34-year-old Thunder Bay man, failed the roadside test and was arrested and taken to OPP detachment for breath tests.
He subsequently was charged with having care or control of a vehicle with a blood alcohol level over .08 mg and refusing to provide a breath sample.
The man also was charged with two counts of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm.
He is scheduled to appear in court here July 25.
Meanwhile, the Rainy River District OPP received a report of a single motor-vehicle collision on Barwick Road in Chapple on June 16 at 1:10 a.m.
During the investigation, the driver, a 30-year-old Rainy River woman, was arrested and taken to the Fort Frances detachment for breath tests.
The vehicle was towed from the scene and impounded for the mandatory seven days.
The driver subsequently was charged with driving with a blood alcohol level over .08 mg and having a blood alcohol level over .08 mg.
She is scheduled to appear in court in Rainy River on July 26.
