Pair busted for drugs in Pinewood

Two men were arrested and charged Thursday in Pinewood after the Tri-Force Drug Unit searched property there and found drugs.
Police seized 18 mature marijuana plants, half-a-pound of dried marijuana, seven long guns, a crossbow, and a switchblade, as well as a quantity of cash.
The potential street value of the seized drugs is $23,000, police said.
As a result of the bust, a 35-year-old Pinewood man faces charges of production of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, proceeds of crime, having an insecurely store weapon, and possession of firearms with no permit.
Another male, age 49, was charged with possession of a controlled substance.
The search was conducted by the Tri-Force Drug Unit, OPP K-9 unit, OPP helicopter unit, and members of the Fort Frances OPP.
The Tri-Force Drug Unit is composed of the Thunder Bay police, RCMP, and OPP.
