OPP recover plane, victims

Members of the OPP’s Underwater Search and Recovery Unit yesterday located all four occupants inside the cabin of a floatplane that had crashed into Fawcett Lake on Tuesday.
The plane and the victims were located around 11:20 a.m.
The pilot was identified as Frederick Charles Illsley, 29, of Winnipeg. His three passengers were Kenneth Melvin Schremp, 49, of Edgerton, Wis., Eric Dixon of Delaware, Ohio, and Aaron Thomas Rogahn, 26, of Kaukauna, Wis.
The plane crashed Tuesday while en route to Fawcett Lake, about 135 km (85 miles) north of Sioux Lookout.
Sioux Lookout OPP was notified of the crash Wednesday around 6:40 a.m. The Transportation Safety Board of Canada still is investigating the cause of the crash.
The DeHavilland Beaver DHC-2 originated from Pickerel Arms Camps tourist camp (the base camp for which is located near Highway 72, south of Sioux Lookout on Minnitaki Lake).
