OPP kept busy with accidents

Fort Frances OPP investigated an accident involving a school bus and another vehicle on the 300 block of Third Street East on Tuesday around 8:45 a.m.
The driver of the southbound school bus, while turning east onto Third Street from Portage Avenue, struck a vehicle that had been stopped at the intersection.
As a result of the investigation, police charged a 47-year-old Fort Frances woman with making an improper left turn contrary.
Shortly before noon on Monday, police investigated an accident involving a vehicle and a pedestrian at the corner of Scott Street and Mowat Avenue.
The driver of a vehicle turning east onto Scott Street struck a pedestrian in the crosswalk.
The driver of the vehicle, an 83-year-old Fort Frances man, was charged with failing to yield to a pedestrian.
The pedestrian was treated by paramedics for minor injuries at the scene.
In a second incident Monday, around 10:30 p.m., officers investigated a single motor vehicle accident on Highway 11 near Jourdain Crescent on Couchiching.
The driver of an eastbound vehicle failed to negotiate a corner, causing the vehicle to roll over and come to rest in the north ditch.
The driver was taken to La Verendrye Hospital and treated for minor injuries.
As a result of their investigation, police later arrested and charged a 28-year-old Fort Frances man with impaired driving and operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol level over 80 mg.
He was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court June 18.
