The long weekend is here and the OPP will be highly visible throughout Rainy River District ensuring that area roadways and waterways are safe.
As you head out to the cabin, the beach, or fishing for the day, please adhere to the current boating regulations.
OPP marine units will be focusing their attention on impaired boating and personal flotation device compliance—both of which are the leading cause of injury and death on our waterways.
Officers also will be stepping up patrols on the highways throughout the long weekend. Seatbelt compliance, sober drivers, and safe speeds mean fewer injuries and deaths.
Officers will be targeting motorists who risk other’s safety by engaging in high-risk activities.
