From the OPP
On Sept. 8, investigators with the OPP’s Professional Standards Bureau and the North West Region Crime Unit charged an OPP officer as a result of an investigation into an incident that occurred while the member was off-duty.
The provincial constable, a 10-year veteran assigned to the Sioux Lookout detachment, has been charged with assault and assault with a weapon.
He has been suspended from duty with pay.
A 37-year-old female of Sioux Lookout also has been charged with assault and with assault with a weapon.
Both have been scheduled to appear in court in Sioux Lookout on Oct. 3.
Their names are not being released in order to protect the identity of the victims.
