OPP capture fleeing driver

Yesterday around 11 a.m., members of the Ignace OPP tried to stop a motor vehicle on Highway 17 in Dewan Township, about 15 km east of Ignace.
The vehicle fled westbound towards Dryden and would not stop for police.
With the assistance of the Dryden OPP, Dryden Police Service, and Treaty #3 Police Service, one male was apprehended after his vehicle left the roadway in Wabigoon.
The male, who was the driver and lone occupant of the vehicle, was uninjured.
The driver, a 29-year-old Kitchener, Ont. man, was arrested and charged with two counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, flight while pursued by a peace officer, and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
He also was charged with failure to comply with a recognizance and failure to comply with a probation order.
The man was held in custody pending a court appearance today in Dryden.
