One new fire was reported by yesterday evening in the West Fire Region.
Sioux Lookout Fire #59 is located about 120 km north of Pickle Lake and is reported at 18 hectares in size.
It is being monitored.
Active fires remain in the region’s far north, but no problems are reported with them.
Aerial reconnaissance shows some fires with no visible fire activity and some with several smoking areas.
In other news, 60 Ontario staff, as well as two CL-415 waterbombers and one Birddog aircraft, are assisting with the escalated fire activity Manitoba is experiencing.
