There was one new forest fire confirmed by yesterday afternoon in the Northwest Fie Region.
Sioux Lookout Fire #4 is “being held” at 1.5 hectares in size. It is located near Doghole Lake in Mishkeegogamang First Nation.
There is one other active forest fire in the Northwest Region.
Fort Frances Fire #2 is “being held” at 66 ha. and is located northwest of Panorama Lake, approximately 54 kilometres northwest of Fort Frances. This forest fire began on Saturday and required the combined suppression efforts of CL-415 waterbombers and FireRanger crews to hold the fire’s spread.
The forest fire hazard is predominantly low to moderate with a few areas of high hazard in the Fort Frances District. Rain is in the forecast for the next few days.
