OLW holds graduation ceremony

Our Lady of the Way held its graduation ceremony before a packed house, at which time 11 students were honoured.
Father James offered opening prayer, then Mark Chojko-Bolec congratulated the class and brought greetings on behalf of the school board.
The salutatory address was given by Peter Sandru before guest speaker Mary Curtis, a former OLW teacher, reminded students of the tough road ahead of them and decisions they will have to make.
But all will be okay if they put their trust and faith in Jesus Christ in making judgements, she added.

•Top Female Athlete–Samantha Blackburne

•Parents’ Council (Fine Arts)–Jaime Vandenbrand.
•Christian Attitude Awards (from the CLW)–Sonya Schulzki (Emo) and Jaime Vandenbrand (Rainy River)
•Father Florentin Council #9556 Award–Dustin Mowe
•Most Improved–Fabian Bird
•Computer Award–Dustin Mowe
•Altar Servers–Jaime Vandenbrand and Sonya Schulzki
•OLW grade 7–Nadine Burner and Nigel Hunter
•Principal’s Award (presented by David Sharp)–Nicole Burner
•TNCDSB Leadership Award (presented by Mark Chojko-Bolec)–Sonya Schulzki
•OECTA Student of the Year (presented by Janice Lee)–Sonya Schulzki.
Diplomas and pins also were presented during the ceremony.
